The breaking and sharing of the Christmas Holy Wafer is one that reminds us of Passover traditions as well as the Last Supper shared by Christ with his apostles. Before the Christmas meal begins, the family members each break a piece of the unlevened wafer while praying for loved ones. Then the wafer is consumed by the family together, as a sign of unity. If you don’t already share this tradition, it’s possibly a beautiful new one your family can start.
