We’re trying something new that we believe will make your Sunday experience even more meaningful and engaging. Beginning in January, our 5:30 PM Mass will launch a Message Series: a set of homilies connected by a single theme, designed to unfold from week to week. Think of it like your favorite streaming show where each “episode” stands alone, but together they build toward a bigger message. And yes… we’re even planning cliffhangers. The goal? To help the message stay with you long after Mass ends and to give you something worth inviting someone else to experience.
Our first series is called “Greater Than” and will give you a new way to approach the subject of worrying. Worry means to think about problems or fears. It is to feel concern about something bad that might happen to us. We turn over and over in our minds events that are beyond our control in some hopes of taking control. Jesus taught very practically that worry is useless. It does not add to our lives and can only distract us from enjoying what God has given us. In this series we will look at the useless nature of worry and how to fight against it.
Why does it matter? This is more than four homilies…it’s an invitation. An invitation to trust God more deeply. An invitation to return each week and see how the story unfolds. And an invitation to bring someone with you who might need this message of hope, peace, and freedom.
We believe this new Message Series format can help people connect more deeply with the Gospel and with the Church. And we hope Greater Than is just the beginning of something exciting here at St. Isidore.
The Greater Than Message Series begins Sunday, January 4 at the 5:30 PM Mass and running for four weeks.
