RE: 2019-2020 FAITH FORMATION YEAR
Dear Parent/Guardian,
We are saddened to notify you that the remainder of the 2019-20 Faith Formation (FF) year has been cancelled. This includes all classes and sacraments through the end of April 2020. Please continue reading for important changes at St. Isidore.
CATECHISM WORKBOOK At this time, we are reminded that parents are their child’s first Catechist and we strongly encourage families to complete the rest of the Catechism workbook with your child(ren). For most grades, that will be the last 5-6 lessons. The workbook is taught in the numerical order of the chapters. Have your child advance to the next chapter they were on and read through it. Once it is read, have the child answer any questions or complete any activities in the chapter. Finally, each chapter has a summary with questions. When the child has completed their summary, you are encouraged to sit down with them and review their answers. This is great opportunity to share faith together.
SACRAMENTS All sacraments for the 2020 year are currently postponed by the AOD due to COVID-19. Due to the continually changing situation, we will be unable to plan or schedule a future date for 1st Eucharist or Confirmation until we have all returned to work. Those who were to receive their sacraments this year will have additional information mailed to their home when we return. Regardless of when that will be, all children will continue to the next grade level when FF resumes in Fall 2020.
FACEBOOK PAGE The FF Team has set up a new Facebook page called – St Isidore Faith Formation Community. Our link is https://www.facebook.com/ffstisidore/. Its purpose is to share news, activities, and events with our families. It has fun on-going interactive programs and is a wonderful tool for sharing faith as a family. Most information will come through this outlet and important notices will be posted sooner than REMIND. All families are encouraged to follow us on Facebook.
CHRISTIAN SERVICE PROGRAMS We can continue to teach compassion and share faith with our children as we help St Isidore serve those in need in our community. Donations of food and baby supplies are still accepted during the week Monday thru Friday from 9a – Noon to support St Vincent De Paul and the Baby Pantry. Monetary donations and tithing envelopes help maintain the church facilities. Any donations can be dropped off (or mailed if appropriate) to the church in the circle drive off of Romeo Plank. When you pull up to the building simply call the office at 586-286-1700 and someone will come out to accept the donation. Thank you!
REGISTRATION FOR 2020-2012 FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM We hope to begin the new registration this summer. Please know that all children will advance to the next grade level in FALL 2020 assuming we are able to return to school at that time.
