The Strawberry Festival is coming up very soon, and we are in need of a great number volunteers to operate the Festival. We've made it easy for your to sign up for areas and times that will fit with your schedule.

Volunteer Descriptions

Learn about the areas in which you can help

Game Tent

  • Place table covers and table bunting on game tent tables
  • Move games and game supplies
  • Set up games
  • Move game prizes from Room 10 to tent
  • Arrange prizes by game
  • Hang prizes on snow fencing
  • Display Game Tent signs by ticket booth and games
  • Fill consolation candy bins

Requires bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing items

  • Sell game tent tickets and wrist bands
  • Greet guests and answer questions regarding game tent tickets
  • Record game ticket and inflatable sale countrs
  • Handle Cash and make Change

  • Receive the correct count of game tickets from each player
  • Explain the game rules to each player
  • Make sure the game rules are followed
  • Run the game as applicable
  • Hand out game consolation candy or prizes

Note: Volunteers can’t play games while volunteering

  • Pack up game prizes for storage
  • Pack up game supplies for storage
  • Disassemble games and move to storage area
  • Move prizes and supplies to Room 10
  • Remove, fold, and pack table bunting and table cloths
  • Fold chairs and tables for pick up
  • Gather trash for collection

Requires bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and pushing items

Desserts

Wash and drain strawberries. place in pans

Cut out stem & imperfect spots (cut berry in half if large)

Place cleaned/cut strawberries in provided pans

Quality check pans of strawberries

Saran wrap pans and put into walk-in refrigerator

Mix pre-cleaned/cored strawberries with gel in pans

Carefully spoon mixture into pie shells, keeping shell edges clean

Place additional gel on top of pie as needed to ensure visual appeal

Place completed pies in boxes

Arrange boxed pies on trays/rolling racks

Take Customer order

Communicate order to assemblers

Add order total, take cash payment, give change as applicable

Keep counter plasticware and napkin dispensers filled.

Sunday Dinner Volunteer

Quantity 2/shift – Use the iPad point of sale to take cash or credit card payments for the Polish Dinner.  The Cashier will give a ticket to the customer for each dinner purchased.  All dinner sales, regardless of age, are $14.  Dinner includes one cabbage roll, two pierogis, two kielbasa and sauerkraut, a slice of bread, and a mini strawberry shortcake.  There are no substitutions.  This position is a seated position.

Quantity 1/shift – The Ticket Taker will receive a ticket from each person who purchased a Polish dinner.  The ticket will be collected in a bucket to be counted at the end of the festival.  This is a seated position.

Quantity 1/shift – The Utensil Controller hands the customer a tray and a package of silverware for each dinner purchased.  This position requires you to stand for four hours.

Quantity 1/shift – The Dessert Server places the strawberry shortcake on the tray for each dinner purchased.  The Dessert Server will need to notify the desert team if they are running low on desserts at their station.  This position requires you to stand for four hours.

Quantity 2/shift – The Expediter will call out to the kitchen servers with how many meals to plate.  The Expediter will need to notify the kitchen team and dessert team of any meals that need to be packaged as a carry out.  This is a high energy position and will require you to stand for four hours.

Quantity 1/shift.  The Roll/Bread and Butter Server places a roll/slice of bread and a package of butter on the tray for each dinner purchased.  The Roll/Bread and Butter Server will need to notify the kitchen team if they are running low on rolls/bread and butter at their station.  This position requires you to stand for four hours.

Quantity 2/shift – The Beverage Server will pre-pour cups of lemonade, ice tea, and water.  The Beverage Server places the desired beverage on the tray for each dinner purchased. The Beverage Server will need to notify the kitchen team if they are running low on refreshments at their station.  This position requires you to stand for four hours.

Other Areas

  • Keep dining areas clean
  • Assist patrons where needed
  • Wash & dry food trays
  • Wipe down tables

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, be comfortable standing, walking, selling tickets, handling money and interacting with people

Theme Raffle

(before/after Mass and during the Festival): Record ticket buyer name and phone number and communicate transaction with the ticket distributor (typically the coordinator) to complete transactions

Duties include one or more of the following:  looking up prize winners, assisting with the ticket drawing for each prize, securing prizes in the office after the drawings, contacting prize winners, and/or helping prize winners transport their prizes to their vehicles.

After the drawings, assist the coordinator to clean up the Theme Raffle Area and take down Theme Raffle décor.  This is usually done while assisting winners with transporting prizes to their vehicles.
