Inspired by the witness of Cecilia, patron saint of musicians, the Music Ministry of St. Isidore Catholic Community welcomes all who wish to share their God-given musical talents.
We strive to promote the full, conscious and active participation of the assembly in the liturgy; praise God through prayer and song; strengthen our bond as a family in Christ; and to be led by the Holy Spirit as we maintain and improve the quality of our singing, playing and music repertoire.
Music, like many others, is a ministry that thrives on community and all of us working together to praise God. We were all saddened when we had to cease holding rehearsals and singing at Masses during the height of the pandemic.
This fall we are encouraged and hopeful as we restart ensembles for our music ministries and would like to invite you to be a part of the music at St. Isidore. Let’s not just return to where we were, but continue to build and strengthen the music ministry. Whether you sang in college, or just like to sing in the shower, there is a place for you here!
All ensembles will allow you to grow in musical understanding and vocal technique while teaching how to praise the Lord in harmony.
Rehearsals will take place either in the music room (if proper social distancing can be achieved, or in the church if numbers are large). We are also taking several other precautions as we restart ensembles this fall in order to maintain a safe and sanitary environment:
- 6-feet between chairs and staggered rows
- All singers should be vaccinated or wear a mask
- Sanitizing between rehearsals
- One-time-use music materials
