How God is like a mother hen
Friday of the 30th Week in Ordinary Time
Scripture often uses female images for God like in today’s gospel.
how many times I yearned to gather your children together
Lk: 13:34
as a hen gathers her brood under her wings,
but you were unwilling!
When danger appears, a mother hen will gather her children together under her protection exposing herself to danger. God does that for us. Those who are unwilling to do so will face greater danger. Fr. Ron encourages us to look to the Lord for the tender love that God has for us like a mother hen.
