How suffering can make us more compassionate

Wednesday of the 1st Week in Ordinary Time

In today’s homily, Fr. Ron reflects on how some of most compassionate and merciful people are those that have suffered the most? Those who have gone hunger are more likely to reach out to another person who is hungry. Suffering makes us more compassionate to others.

Jesus went through a life of poverty and a terrible death. As a result he is able to be with us in our suffering which we are reminded of in today’s readings.

We draw closer to Jesus in our suffering which can make us more compassionate.
