How to respond when faced with our sinfulness

Tuesday of the 6th Week in Ordinary Time

Coming face-to-face with your own sinfulness and observing the wickedness in the world around you?
We read this in today’s first reading which is the beginning of the story of Noah and the flood. God looks at the world and is overcome with the wickedness. It’s not what he intended the world to be. He doesn’t respond with anger, he is just heartbroken like a disappointed parent.

Lent is a time to come face-to-face with our own sinfulness. Our response should be heartbroken as well. God doesn’t look at us with anger because of our sinfulness.
