What does abundance mean for the Church of today?

Fr. Ron begins today’s homily by sharing one of his favorite verses from John’s Gospel:

“From his abundance we have received grace upon grace”

How will Jesus continue to relate to the Church after he returns to the Father?

The answer is in today’s passage. After Jesus returns to the Father, the disciples return to their lives as fishermen, but aren’t catching anything. Jesus calls to them and they catch many fish. In this reading like so many other miracles we see performed by Jesus, he demonstrates abundance. The mission of the Church begins with the miracle of abundance.
