What Jesus’ Golden Rule really means
Thursday of the 23rd Week in Ordinary Time
St. Luke tells the second half of Jesus’ Sermon on the Plain, where Jesus commands his followers to love your enemy. Do good to those who hate you, pray for those who mistreat you. Turn the other cheek, and of course the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do to you.
Fr. Ron reflects on how what Jesus is really saying with that is: Do unto others… and keep doing it no matter how they treat you.
We have a choice to be like Jesus, or let violent and hateful people turn us into them.
