Whose gift means more?

Monday of the 34th Week in Ordinary Time

Today’s gospel is St. Luke’s account of the Widow’s mite. Watching the wealthy put their gifts into the treasury, but Jesus points out the small gift of the widow because she gave out of her needs she gave more than the rich.

Fr. Ron reflects on how we too are to give completely and selflessly of ourselves to God’s Kingdom. We also need to better serve the needs of the poor. We live in a culture where the wealthy are considered more important than the gifts of the poor, but they are the gifts that God values the most. How can we better follow their example?
