When we think of Pentecost, the first thing that comes to mind is the Holy Spirit .
So why is our Connecting Point about forgiveness?
At the end of the gospel that we hear this weekend, Jesus tells his disciples what power of the Holy Spirit can do for them and ends with Jesus saying,
“whose sins you forgive are forgiven and
whose sends you retain are retained.”
This is a nice reminder for us that Jesus gives us all the gift of the Holy Spirit and we all have that power, but sometimes we choose not to forgive someone.
Today, right now, there is someone in your life who is in need of forgiveness and likely there is someone in your life who you need to ask forgiveness from.
Don’t waste any more time and find those people in your life and share the gift of the Holy Spirit with them through forgiveness.
