Each year we celebrate the blessing of the baby Jesus figurines from your families Nativity sets. Have you even wondered why we do this?
This tradition was begun by Pope St. John Paull II (the second) in Rome. When he asked the children to bring their “Bambinelli” (little baby) figurines for a special blessing. The blessing is a special way to celebrate and honor the Incarnation – God becoming human – and to be reminded of God’s love for us. It’s a tradition that we hope helps our families form a connection between the blessed figurines in their homes’ and the celebration at church. Serving as a sign of God’s presence and love in all of our lives, now and forever.
Please consider joining us for this wonderful tradition at all Masses.
