I’m sorry. We use that expression often in our daily conversations; but asking for forgiveness is sometimes more difficult. There’s an implied admission that maybe, just maybe, we were wrong. It could have been because of our own actions or inaction. It could have been a lack of response to someone’s plea for help.

It’s important to note that when we ask for forgiveness we are asked to respond as Christ responded to those acts of violence inflicted on Him. Can we ask others to forgive as Christ did? Can we forgive and forget? Can we admit our own shortcomings and ask God to forgive us? This week we are asked to remove the barriers between those we have hurt, swallow our pride and ask for the grace to seek forgiveness.
