We take for granted that the lights will come on, but what would we do without the light? Our initial reaction may be disorientation, even panic. The same reaction may overcome us if we were to meet a stranger. We may feel a certain uneasiness, caution, even fear.
We are challenged to search beyond the physical and find the spiritual gifts of others. We are encouraged to be more open to all people and more understanding of their unique qualities and characteristics.

God in Christ would have us pray for all people we encounter in our daily lives.
