In one of the Eucharistic Prayers, we pray that “the church may be a witness to truth and freedom, justice and peace, that all people may be raised up to a new hope.” We are the church. And we as a parish must bear witness to peace and justice.
Our Justice team, which was formed a couple years ago, leads our parish in being such a witness. We have studied the Catholic Church’s principles of social justice and will be presenting them to the parish, beginning with Care for Creation. Pope Francis has written two letters on the Care of creation.
