Fr. Ron is forming a Social Justice group

In one of the Eucharistic Prayers I often use at Mass, we pray that "the Church may stand as a living witness to truth and freedom, to peace and justice, that all people may be raised up to a new hope."

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) breaks Social Justice into seven themes:

•  Life and Dignity of the Human Person

•  Call to Family, Community, and Participation

•  Rights and Responsibilities

•  Option for the Poor and Vulnerable

•  The Dignity of Work and the Right of Workers

•  Solidarity

•  Care for God’s Creation

I am looking for parishioners who want to join me in forming a Justice and Peace Group here at St. Isidore. On a weekly basis we will be studying and discussing the Church’s teachings on social justice, and take initiatives to promote those teachings in our parish. If you are interested an introductory meeting will take place at 7:00 PM Monday, October 17, at the rectory (priest’s home). RSVP requested at:  frron@stisidore.church or cell
(586) 212-7760.
