For the past seven years there has been a Tuesday in late fall dedicated to raising funds for charities. It’s called Giving Tuesday, and this year it lands on December 3rd. The day has grown in popularity and has truly become a celebration of generosity. Last year, over $300 million dollars was raised on Giving Tuesday.
We are excited to be participating in #GivingTuesday for the first time, joining millions of other Christians across the world, using this day to support one of our long-standing initiatives – The Christmas Giving Tree. We are setting a goal of $1000.
Please know that anything and everything donated on Giving Tuesday goes directly to this cause. This giving will not be mixed in with other initiatives or with the general church fund.
The $1000 we hope to raise on #GivingTuesday will provide assistance for many families in our community during the holidays. Remember, giving is an expression of our love for God. He desires for us to put Him first in every area of our lives including our finances.
