Pope Francis designated 2025 as a Holy Year to renew ourselves as “Pilgrims of Hope.” To help celebrate the Jubilee of Hope, St. Isidore’s Evangelization Committee is offering a bus trip. This event will include the following three designated Detroit-area pilgrimage sites: National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, Blessed Solanus Casey Center, and St. Joseph Shrine (including their Oktoberfest event held on that day). The cost of the bus trip is $40 per person (does not include meals) and tickets can be purchased at the church office. The deadline to register is Thursday, August 21.
Itinerary
Departure: St. Isidore Church (The bus will be located on the Romeo Plank side of the church parking lot.)
- 7:30 AM – Bus leaves
First stop: National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, Royal Oak
- 8:15 AM – Estimated arrival
- 8:30 AM – Attend Mass
- 9:00 AM – Tour Basilica starting (lasts approximately 1.5 hours)
- 10:30 AM – Leave the Basilica
Second stop: Blessed Solanus Casey Center, Detroit
- 11:00 AM – Estimate arrival
- 11:30 AM – Lunch (Bring your own or purchase onsite)
- 12:30 PM – Gift shop/outside attractions
- 1:00 PM – Tour Center (lasts approximately 2 hours)
- 3:15 PM – Leave the Center
Third stop: St. Joseph Shrine, Detroit
- 3:30 PM – Estimated arrival
- 3:30 PM – Self-guided tour of Shrine (lasts approximately 30 minutes)
- 4:00 PM – Tour Oktoberfest event in Desales Park (Family carnival with rides, games, German-style foods, beer, bands, and dancing.) (lasts approximately 2 hours). Purchase dinner during the Oktoberfest tour
- 6:00 PM – Leave the Oktoberfest event
Return: St. Isidore Church
- 7:00 PM – Estimated arrival
Bus Amenities – Individual climate controls, footrests, sanitized restrooms, and comprehensive Wi-Fi internet access with electrical outlets. Free water and snacks will be provided during the bus trip.
