We will be celebrating the 5:30 Mass on the Grass in the St. Isidore Parish Courtyard on Sunday, September 20. We had great reviews of the July 12 Mass on the Grass experience and 2020 continues to provide us with a great opportunity to continue our outdoor venture while the warm weather is still with us. Our outdoor celebration of Eucharist is an option for all
and a special invitation to those who have yet to return to the celebration of Mass indoors. Through the storms of crisis, we continue with courage on our faith journey, strengthened in Word and Sacrament, the source and summit of our living in Jesus Christ, the Lord.
Why? To celebrate the Paschal Mystery, receive Christ in Holy Eucharist and to give praise and thanksgiving to God for life and the beauty of His creation, assembled as the Body of Christ in our St. Isidore courtyard. Summer 2020 is a fitting opportunity to restore this novel tradition!
What do I bring? Lawn chair or blanket/towel for comfortable seating.
Where do I park? North lot near rectory from Romeo Plank for direct access to the courtyard.
Can I use the restroom? Restrooms will be accessible for emergency purposes via the left patio/social hall doors.
How long will Mass be? 60 minutes or less.
Do I need to wear a mask? Please bring and wear a mask as you arrive and are being seated in the courtyard, during the Communion procession and as you are ushered back to the parking lot after Mass. Masks are not need to be worn while seated in your designated area. Although the recent update of the AOD directives does not require masks for outdoor Masses where safe social distancing is maintained, please wear the masks while moving in and out of seating positions. Please Note: Masks are still required at all times for indoors Mass.
How will I be seated? Ushers will guide each household with social distance to a place on the grass. Blanket/beach towels from front. Lawn chairs from the rear.
Do I still need to register? Yes, this will help us prepare for social distanced seating. Register here
How will we be dismissed? From back to front, as inside worship space.
What if the weather is bad (rainy, wet, stormy)? We will celebrate Mass inside the worship space as usual. Notification of the inclement weather decision will be posted via the parish website by 1:00pm September 20.
Remember we have dispensation from Holy Obligation of attending Mass until November 22.
If you are 65 or older, or have any pre-existing medical conditions, please be advised that the safest option is to stay home.
Almighty and eternal God, who created us in your image, you ask us to seek after all that is good, true and beautiful, especially in the divine person of Thy only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Grant us that through the intercession of Saint Isidore, bishop and doctor, during our journeys we will direct our hands and eyes only to that which is pleasing to you, and treat with charity and patience all those whom we encounter.
We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
St. Isidore the Farmer, pray for us!
