The Christmas Wafer commemorates a custom which is many centuries old. Oplatek, from the Latin; “Oblatum,” Holy Bread is believed by some to emanate as far back as the “manna” of Exodus 16:31 and is sometimes referred to as the Bread of Angels. Shared at the Christmas Vigil meal, the breaking of the Christmas Wafer offers best wishes to family and friends.
A free will offering is requested to cover costs.
