Social Justice Committee

As we reflect on the year 2023, it’s truly heartwarming to see the incredible success of our Social Justice Committee as we focused on “Caring for God’s Creation.” With three impactful events that touched the hearts and lives of many in our community, we’ve demonstrated the power of collective action and the true spirit of St. Isidore Church.

We are immensely proud of the success of our 2023 events centered around this theme:

  1. Earth Day with Earth Breeze Co. was a remarkable event where we celebrated Earth Day by partnering with Earth Breeze, a sustainable and eco-friendly household products company. Together, we took significant steps toward reducing our carbon footprint and promoting a more sustainable way of life.
  2. Foster Care Family Fun Day was an unforgettable day filled with love, joy, and support for our local foster care families with over 1500 present.
  3. Pets and Prayers was an event that touched both human and animal hearts. We joined hands with local animal shelters and pet care organizations to hold a pet blessing ceremony and pet adoption event. It was a beautiful opportunity for our community to come together and show love to our furry friends, reinforcing the idea that all of God’s creatures deserve care and respect.

These events were not just successful in their own right but were also a reflection of the values that St. Isidore Church holds dear – love, compassion, and care for God’s creation in all its forms. The Social Justice Committee made these events possible through the dedication and enthusiasm of its members, and the tremendous support of our church community.

Now, we invite you to join us in 2024! We’re looking for new members and fresh ideas to continue our mission. Whether you’re experienced or new to social justice, your passion is what matters most. Share your ideas and energy at our next meeting on November 17 at 7 PM in the rectory. Let’s make 2024 another year of positive change. Want to know more? Contact Dave Rizzi at aj1dr2@hotmail.com.

Together, let’s keep the spirit of love and compassion alive within our church community.
