Inspired by Gospel values the Society of St. Vincent de Paul leads women and men to join together in friendship to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering. The coronavirus pandemic has temporarily caused a time of quarantine for all nonessential workers but we are still responding to calls of help from our neighbors in need.
Our team typically meets two Thursdays per month and we start the meeting by praying the St. Vincent de Paul Chaplet for our own personal intentions, intentions that have been placed in our Prayer Intention Box (in the Gathering Space), and for the poor. We are praying this chaplet now in small teams over the phone to continue our friendship, support and spiritual growth as Vincentians and pray for an end to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Pope Francis asked in his March 27th Urbi et Orbi Homily; “How many are praying, offering and interceding for the good of all?” Let us pray for an end of this pandemic, for the sick, those who have died and their families, for health care workers, first responders, supermarket employees, cleaners, caregivers, transportation workers, volunteers, priests, religious, and those who are unemployed or underemployed during this time of crisis.
Please join us in prayer. Stay safe, Stay home!
God Bless,
St. Isidore St. Vincent de Paul Society
