The Catholic Church remembers Saint Vincent de Paul, patron saint of Catholic charities on September 27th.
Pope Benedict XVI noted that St. Vincent “keenly perceived the strong contrast between the richest and the poorest of people,” and was “encouraged by the love of Christ” to “organize permanent forms of service” to provide to those in need.
As we celebrate St. Vincent de Paul on his Feast Day, we thank you, our parishioners, for advocating for the poor, the way he did, with your very generous contributions and donations. You simply amaze us!
Please keep financial contributions and the food pantry in mind as you shop in stores or on-line this week. The pantry is in need of these items listed in order of most needed:
- Cash Donations – Blue Envelopes at Church entrances
- $25 Gift Cards – Walmart, Meijer, Kroger
- Paper Towel
- Toilet Paper
- Oatmeal
- Helpers – Hamburger, Tuna
- Canned – Kidney Beans
- Canned Soup – Tomato, Chicken Noodle
- Pancake Mix & Syrup
- Jars & Canned – Spaghetti Sauce
- Pasta Roni
- Canned – Corn
St. Isidore SVDP has been awarded Meijer “Simply Give” beginning September 29th. Watch for “Simply Give” cards next week Sunday on the tables at each church entrance and in the office.
God Bless you for loving our neighbors,
St. Vincent De Paul Society
