The World Day of the Poor is a Roman Catholic observance, established by Pope Francis, and is celebrated on the 33rd Sunday of Ordinary Time since 2017. In his message for the 6th World Day of the Poor, on 11/13/22, Pope Francis invites Christians to greater solidarity and responsibility for the poor in society, stressing the importance of putting our faith into practice through personal involvement. “As Christians, let us always make charity, faith and hope the basis of our lives and our actions.” [1]
Through The Knights of Columbus Helping Hands program, the Knights work to care for the most disadvantaged members of our communities — the homeless, the addicted, the elderly who may feel isolated and abandoned, and many others. This year, the K of C St. Isidore Council # 7200 will host a pancake breakfast on 11/13 in honor of the World Day of the Poor. We hope to see you there.
