Loving people more than laws

Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today we thank God for the central role Mary plays in our lives as we celebrate her birth.
In today’s gospel, the annunciation of St. Joseph, Jospeh finds himself in predicament between following the law and doing the loving thing for Mary.
We, too, often find ourselves in similar predicaments between following the law and doing the loving thing for another person. Like Joseph, we need to take time to listen to God to make the best decision to do the loving thing.
