Not the Messiah they were expecting

Wednesday of the Third Week of Advent

In today’s gospel, John’s sends his disciples to seek out Jesus to ask if he was the Messiah to come. Jesus encourages them to see the evidence. God is on the side of the poor and committed to them. There is evidence of this in today’s world as well. We can sometimes focus on the negative things of the world that we miss seeing the evidence of God at work in the world around us.
