Christmas Giving Tree 2022

October 16, 2022

October 15 & 16

Once again, it’s time to start thinking about our annual Christmas Giving Tree Program. Just as in the past, we will be using gift cards. We will also gladly accept checks, cash or cash donations made on line using push pay, available on St. Isidore’s web site, to make it more convenient for everyone.

Gift cards may be purchased from Kohls, J.C. Penney or Target in denominations from $5.00 to $25.00. Please buy as many gift cards as you like.

The Giving Tree is meant to be a living symbol of the true meaning of Christmas. As we all know, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” God has been good to us and we can express our thankfulness by sharing with those less fortunate, when we use our Giving Tree envelopes. Please be as generous as you can.

The trees will be located in the gathering space at each entrance to the Church and one at Mary’s Prayer Garden entrance.

The organizations benefiting this year are:

ST. PETER & PAUL WARMING CENTER

The Warming Ctr. Provides drinks and food, use of a phone, and a place to have mail delivered. Showers and laundry service are available along with socks, underwear and other practical items. There are fifteen volunteers and six paid staff members. Once a week medical and nursing students provide care and blood pressure checks.

BABY PANTRY

St. Isidore’s Baby Pantry has provided diapers, formula and baby food for 20 + families this year and we are growing. We service Macomb Twp and surrounding townships and cities.

ST. ISIDORE FAMILIES

These families live within our parish boundaries, who struggle to make ends meet. Now, that Christmas is around the corner, they desperately need some extra help. Last year our Christmas Giving Tree helped families, adults and children with gift certificates. Hopefully we can do the same thing this year.

NATIVITY CHURCH

Nativity Church, in Detroit, has been our sister church for many years. We have been helping them financially to sustain the parish and promote the Catholic Faith in and around them.

MARY’S CHILDREN

This is a non-profit organization created to serve people with brain injuries/intellectual and development disabilities and their families.

AGAPE CENTER MACOMB, MACOMB FOOD BANK AND ST. ALOYSIUS

We also donate to the above, to a lesser amount, depending on our Christmas Tree collection totals.
