Fr. Ron’s Ramblings 2-17-19

Lent begins late this year: Ash Wednesday is March 6. But it is not too early to begin planning how you will keep the penitential season.

As in the past, St. Isidore will be joining the other parishes in the North Macomb Vicariate in “Onward to the Kingdom,” a Vicariate-wide mission held every two years.  My hope is that you will plan on making this a part of your Lenten practice this year. The mission begins with a concert featuring John Angotti at St. Lawrence Parish on Sunday, March 24, at 7:00 PM, and will conclude with a closing Mass here at St. Isidore on Thursday, March 28, at 7:00PM. There will be many spiritually enriching events at various parishes throughout the week. A full schedule can be found on flyers in the Gathering Space.

Also, morning weekday Mass will be celebrated at only one Vicariate parish during the mission. There will be no morning Mass here March 25th through the 28th. This is a great opportunity to pray with and get to know our friends in our neighboring parishes!

It is so important that we have a much broader view and experience of the Church beyond our own parish. One of the great blessings of being a Catholic is knowing that we are part of a larger faith community, including the Vicariate and beyond. “Onward to the Kingdom” is a great opportunity to celebrate and experience the greater Church. Please plan now on joining us throughout the week.

A full schedule of special Lenten services and programs at St. Isidore will be distributed shortly and is also available online at www.onwardtothekingdom.org. Stay tuned!!

Blessings,
Fr. Ron
