Fr. Ron’s Ramblings 08/12/18

We welcome Fr. Jose Manjakunnel to St. Isidore this weekend.  Fr. Jose joins us as part of the annual Missionary Cooperation Plan of the Propagation of the Faith of the Archdiocese of Detroit.  Fr. Jose represents his diocese in Northwest India, an area oppressed by poverty.  We thank you for whatever sacrifices you make to support his missionary work.
Plan on joining us for our parish picnic following 4:30 Mass next Saturday, August 18th.  All food and drinks will be free–a way of expressing our appreciation for your support of our parish mission. One example of that support is that, through your generosity, our parish has surpassed its Catholic Services Appeal goal for the first time in 20 years! One hundred percent of gifts to the CSA directly support our parish mission. We thank everyone who helped make CSA 2.0 a great success.
Last school year I had the joy of being a Fifth Grade Catechist in our Faith Formation program.  It was a great experience: the kids were fantastic, and I received great support from our Religious Formation Team.  It was a chance for me to grow in my faith, as I shared it with our young people. I have reached that age where, as an elder in the community, I have become more focused on my responsibility to pass the faith which I love on to future generations. We are currently recruiting catechists for the upcoming year.  Please consider joining us.  As the words on the board in the Gathering Space reads: “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle”.
See you at the Picnic,
Fr. Ron
