“Look for the Helpers”

I am constantly amazed at the goodness of people. In the midst of all of the chaos that currently surrounds the world, there are people who can’t help but step up to help. In scrolling through Facebook a couple of weeks ago, I came across this picture/quote from Fred Rogers (better known simply as Mr. Rogers).

I have focused on this simple message as I’ve witnessed so much of the chaos that engulfs the world during the spread of the coronavirus. I am amazed at all of the people who live so selflessly for others. I don’t believe their actions are completely altruistic, as I know they are getting paid and that they are trained professionals in many instances, but that doesn’t make their actions any less profound. It takes a person of faith and hope to continue to contribute to the good of society in the midst of all that is taking place.

I thank God for each of YOU, the helpers; whether that is moms and dads at home helping to ease the concern of their children, health care workers who are fighting the good fight each and every day, grocery store employees doing their best to stock shelves and deal with frightened customers, truck drivers who are ensuring goods are delivered all across the country, and my fellow church workers who are trying so hard to bring hope to people in this dire situation. Thank you to everyone who is contributing as a “helper.” May God bless you and your loved ones.
